You’re in for a special treat at Our Place Cafe with Nice Cream, owned by STEAM Chemist Jerald Henry Smith. Nice Cream desserts are created instantly before your eyes.
We handcraft our ice creamand sorbet using a revolutionary, -321 degree liquid nitrogen freezing process.This method freezes our ice cream fresh in seconds, as opposed to “regular” ice cream which takes hours to freeze. The flash freezing creates microscopic ice crystals, which results in a smooth texture and our cryogenic mixer creates a creaminess that mixing by hand doesn't achieve.
We only use the finest all natural local ingredients and never add any artificial colors or flavors, corn syrup, preservatives, stabilizers, carrageenan, or gums. Nice Cream is pure, healthy deliciousness!
Our Place Cafe
The menu of Our Place at Ben Washer Park showcases a variety of health conscious, breakfast and lunch items, as well as indulgent pastries, featuring local and seasonal ingredients.
Chef Mark Hoosier offers familiar and adventurous food alike from muffins and chicken sandwiches to a vegetable packed African peanut stew. We offer a number of delicious vegan options.
On the beverage side of the menu, Our Place offers coffee from local West Lou Coffee. There is also a variety of hot teas and seasonally altering drinks including fresh pressed juices, house made cider, and more. Our menu changes with the seasons!
Summer Hours
Kitchen Closes at 2pm and the Cafe remains open for Grab & Go.
